Eggs from this pen will be from Olive Egger Hens bred back to an Olive Egger Rooster. I have decided to label these as OE X OE versus using F1, F2, F3 etc because I am not using the same generation of Olive Eggers in this pen. Roosters are F1 and hens could be F1 to F6.
We do this cross because it can create very unique egg colors not seen with standard OE crosses. You could get varying shades of blue to green, Olive shades or brown.
Chicks, just like the eggs, can be a myriad of colors and patterns. Some may be solid Black, Blue or Splash. There’s a chance for white or barring. They could have a beard, muff and/or crest with clean or feathered legs.
If you have space in your chicken coop for some fun and unique birds, this would be a great cross to consider!
